Today I learned the charleston...
I finally persuaded my dance teacher to teach us the charleston... and I was easily the best, I even threw in a couple of moves from that deleted Roxie HArt scene and the I Love Lucy Clip.... I'm sure Ginger would have been proud!
The header picture is the beginning of an idea. I want a new header, and my plan is to use the one of GInger escaping the car, and cleverly photo impose the rest of the car, and on the otherside of the car, me, all decked out in my 30s gear, magnifying glass in hand as though I'm actually "Finding Ginger". I'm quite excited and am currently trying to find a car that wont look to hideously out of keeping with the rest of the picture... let me know what you think!

Sounds cool! I am sure you are as adept at 'photoshop' as everything else, so it should be a cracking pic! (I do like the word 'cracking' to describe things... a cool 'English' expression!)
ReplyDelete...although, isn't the Ginger pic of her getting out of the car from "It Had to be You"? One of our favorites, no??? :-] jk...
ReplyDeleteSuper fun! Wish I could learn the Charleston too!
ReplyDeleteBeth, LOVE your idea - very creative! That's one of my favorite Ginger pics. Good luck with it, and I'll be looking forward to seeing the results. I've GOT to learn Photoshop!
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on being the best with the Charleston - that's as it should be for any Ginger fan! lol :)
Ahhh...I've always wanted to learn how to do the Charleston. You lucky duck!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo, I've never seen that one before. Can't wait to see the new header!
I've always wanted to learn how to do the Charleston! It looks like a lot of fun! Well, of course you were the best. You had Ginger for inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I can't wait to see how the new header turns out.
Hmm, I wonder if my tap teacher knows the charleston...
ReplyDeleteI have a new tap dance teacher now, because the previous one had a bum knee so she would have ME teach the class, so I wasn't really getting anywhere for a month or so..
My friend tried to teach me the charleston in 2nd grade but I just remember being very slo mo about it!
That is such a cute photoshop idea!! I didn't know you were a photoshop master. I'm not very good. I can only edit OUT things, not edit IN anything!!

...well, I have just gotten comfortable with putting one foot in front of the other, so dancing isn't in my forseeable future... but it is so cool that you can Charelston! Roxie is one of my very faves, and I really can;t figure out why they cut the Charelston scene out... I guess it was right at the first, before she snuck home via the fire escape...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, keep up the great work, and thanks for keeping all the great dance stuff alive, teaching others, and probably winning converts to the whole 'scene' of the 30's and 40's! I think that is quite important to retain the memories of that era, and not just 'Ginger-wise'... (of course she is a MAJOR player, tho... :-) ) Plus, the dancing is just COOL!!!
How terrific! Way to go! :)
ReplyDeleteNeat pictures of Ginger, especially the first. Adorable.
